Fees
Doctors at Newmarket is a mixed billing practice. Consultation fees are payable in full at the time of consultation by cash, EFTPOS, credit card. Medicare rebates can be deposited into your savings or cheque account at the same time.
Pensioners, DVA and concession cardholders are bulk-billed. All Chronic Disease Management Plans (EPC) are also bulk-billled. These bulk-billed patients will still incur an first visit only consult fee, for any new patients of the clinic.
Skin cancer checks and consultations will be privately billed and applies to all patients (pension card holders will receive a small discount).
A list of consultation fees is displayed in the reception area and waiting room.
In addition to consultation fees, a materials fee will be charged for all dressings, materials used in procedures, contraceptives, and certain vaccines. The materials fee applies to all patients (including concession cardholders).
The Government has restricted Medicare GP items to circumstances where a patient has an existing relationship with a general practice (i.e., the patient has visited a GP in the practice face-to-face in the last 12 months. Please be aware that otherwise a private or gap fee may be incurred for telephone or video consults.
